Matcha Latte

                      MATCHA LATTE

Every now and then I am in the mood for something different. This mood is what made me switch to matcha from coffee in the first place. I heard a lot of good things about matcha but I didn’t actually try it until I felt the need for something different. I am super glad I made such a switch in my life. My mind and body thank me for it. Then a while ago I thought about getting a little creative with my matcha. Then I decided to try a matcha latte one Saturday morning. I am also glad I decided to enhance  my matcha experience. Now I don’t drink matcha lattes everyday but once in a while I choose to alter my morning routine.

Actually a lot of people these days are consuming matcha lattes. I have met a lot of people who used to drink lattes derived from coffee every morning so they could just start their day. Those same people now consume matcha lattes because it provides them with greater health benefits and has less caffeine. High amounts of caffeine have negative effects on the body and can make you feel exasperated. I recommend that you give matcha latte a try and you will feel much better physically and mentally.

How about you? Are you in the mood for a latte? How about a latte that is super healthy and will provide an energy boosting start to your day? It is time to discover the joys of a match latte. I have provided information on the type of matcha latte I prefer to use. I don’t use sugar in my latte but that is optional depending on your taste. Also, I like my latte warm but that is also a matter of taste. You can also try your latte with cold milk.

1 tsp matcha green tea powder

2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp warm water
250ml cold milk or 300ml hot milk

How To Prepare

Spoon the matcha green tea powder and the sugar into a mug or cup. Of course you can also use a chawan.

Add the warm water and mix with a spoon or with a whisk until it is a smooth dark green paste to make sure no lumps have formed.

Warm the milk in a small saucepan and pour into the mug until nearly full. Use cold milk for an iced latte.

Use a whisk to mix the paste and milk together until its smooth and light green in colour.

Keep in mind to add 1 teaspoon of matcha latte for every 8oz/250ml of water. Please remember you can enjoy a matcha latte your own way. You can use ice, almond milk, chocolate milk, fresh fruits and/or anything you desire!
